Star Wars Imperial Ration Travel Biscuits

Star Wars Imperial Travel Biscuits

I'm always on the lookout for food in the Star Wars universe.  I caught up on The Mandalorian Season 3 and Episode 3 delivered with some of the Empire's travel biscuits!

In an episode that dives into some of the Imperial side (ala Andor) we learn that some of the characters miss the travel biscuits that were part of Imperial ration packs.

Star Wars Imperial Travel Biscuits

I had to make some of course! They only showed the "yellow" biscuits but there was mention of red biscuits so I added some of those in too.

Star Wars Imperial Travel Biscuits

You can use your favorite shortbread or sugar cookie recipe. Mine is listed below.

Star Wars Imperial Travel Biscuits

Cut into rectangular shapes and add smaller lines inside with a knife while still warm
(at least what I could tell from screenshots of the episode).  Mine are probably not as neat as they could be, but I was so excited to make them with some leftover dough.

I'm sure the Empire is nice and precise with exact sharp lines!

Package in some cellophane treat bags.

Print out some Imperial logos to add to the bags.

Have with some Imperial tea or your fav drink.
My teenage kid who is still a huge SW fan approved!

The Book of Boba Fett Character Cookies

So if you ever wondered what happened to Star War's Boba Fett after he fell into the Sarlacc pit in Return of the Jedi - wonder no more!  Disney+ is now streaming The Book of Boba with all your questions answered - I think!

To celebrate one of the most famous bounty hunters, I had to make some cookies.  This is my most fav no spread sugar cookie recipe from In Katrina's Kitchen.  It works great every time I make character cookies.  I used a combination of natural food colors and also food gels for tinting.

Book of Boba Fett Cookies

Then just use it like play-do to make The Book of Boba characters.  I used google pics as a guide.

Book of Boba Fett Cookies

These are pre-baked cookies.  No need to chill the dough.

And after baking for about 8-10 minutes.  Watch the cookies closely so they don't brown too much.

So far the live action series is great and brings back some old favs as well as some new characters.  I included here Boba Fett (of course!), Fennac Shand (his partner in crime/confidant/hired assassin), one of the Tusken Raiders (who seem to play a big part in Boba's arc), a Gamorrean guard, Max Rebo (still jamming on his keyboard), the Wookie Krrsantan, 8D8 Droid, and my new favs The Hutt Twins!

We can't wait to see how they wrap it up and what's in store for our fav Boba.

Star Wars The Bad Batch Madeleine Cookies

Star Wars Bad Batch madeleine cookies

I am loving the Disney+ release schedule because between Marvel and Star Wars me and my oldest are set for years!

The latest Star Wars animated series continues the Clone Wars saga and gives some new perspective.  My oldest kiddo has loved the clones since they came out in the Attack of the Clones so this new Bad Batch Force 99 is right up his alley.

Used my madeleine pan again (yay!)  to make some red velvet ones

And then decorated with candy melts in shades of white, grey, black, and red.

I *think* they kinda look like the Bad Batch trooper helmets but may not? And in case you're not familiar that's Crosshair, Tech, Hunter, and Wrecker

Regardless they were red velvet tastiness and great to chomp on while watching the series!

Happy Friday and Can't wait until the next Marvel series, Loki!

Star Wars Ahsoka Tano cookies, Hera Syndulla cookies, Princess Leia cookies, Baby Yoda cookies & Loth-cat Cookies

Ahsoka Tano cookies, Hera Syndulla cookies, Princess Leia cookies, Baby Yoda cookies Loth-cat Cookies

It's one of my favorite days - May the 4th Be With You (aka May 4th aka Star Wars Day!)'

To celebrate I made some of my favorite characters in sugar cookie form.

Since the movies are done (well for now) I'm catching up on some of the cartoon series.  They have some great characters too like Hera Syndulla from Star Wars Rebels and Ahsoka Tano from Star Wars Clone Wars (and Rebels).  Princess Leia is an all-time fav so I had to include her.

Ahsoka Tano cookies Princess Leia cookies Hera Syndulla cookies

And Loth-cats.  What's a Loth-cat you ask? They are super cute critters from Star Wars Rebels!  Aren't they adorbs?

Really easy to make too! So made a whole gang of them.

Loth cat cookies

To make all of the cookies I started with a really easy no spread cookie dough recipe.  I use this recipe from In Katrina's Kitchen.  I used it for another version of Baby Yoda cookies and it worked great.

Once the cookie dough is mixed tint with natural food colors and/or a tiny bit of food color gels to get the right colors.

The green is matcha powder, orange is tumeric (and tiny bit of orange food gel), brown is cocoa powder, and yellow is tumeric too.

This dough holds it shape really well.  I use it like clay to freehand the characters.  Below is pre-bake.  Add some detail like the Loth-cat mouth before baking.

Bake only for about 10 minutes and keep checking to make sure they don't brown too much.  Post-bake below.

Princess Leia & her iconic buns!

You can never have enough Baby Yoda

Ahsoka Tano is one of my newest favs on the shows.

Also Just Jenn Recipes has tons of great ideas as well - thanks for so much inspiration!

Hera Syndulla is another great female character plus she's a Twi'lek!

Hera Syndulla star wars rebels cookies

I love the animals and creatures of Star Wars so much and the Loth-cats are no exception.  I love their colors and pointy ears.  The white Loth cat has some specialness in Star Wars Rebels so included it here too.

You get a pretty neat looking mix of sugar cookies from across the Star Wars universe.

  8. Use candy melt to attach heart sprinkles for Leia, Ahsoka, and Hera's mouth.
  9. Use black food marker to add eyes and Loth-cat detail.

Baby Yoda Sipping Soup - The Mandalorian Cookies

Are you guys watching The Mandalorian??? It's almost impossible not to get on the Baby Yoda kick.

I mean look at him!  And I know it's not really baby Yoda - he/she is technically called "The Child" in the show but the interwebs have dubbed it Baby Yoda so I'm sticking with that.

These are Baby Yoda sipping soup cookies.  You know meme right?

Baby Yoda sippin' soup! It's just too much so I had to make it in cookie form!

I used sugar cookie dough and tinted half green (I used food coloring but use matcha to add some great flavor!) and half light brown with cocoa powder.

Roll out your dough and using a gingerbread man cutter cut out brown bodies and green heads.

Attach them by pressing them slightly together at the seams.  I cut out ears free hand and also added some extra brown dough for robe accents.

Cut the tip from a Bugle chip for the soup bowl and rub with some cocoa powder.

Fold arms around bowl and add a little green dough for hands

Add a little more brown dough for more robe accents.  Use black sprinkles as eyes and a little pink melted candy wafer to color the ears.

Be warned! If you eat the ears Baby Yoda turns into Uncle Fester from the Addams Family!
So creepy!

BUT - until then you have some super cute Baby Yoda Sipping Soup Cookies!

This should be a fun week.  The last Mandalorian episode is this week.  We see the Rise of Skywalker this weekend.  And it's Christmas next week so all in all a great end to the year!

Hope you enjoy the cookies!

  2. Divide cookie dough in half
  3. Tint half with 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
  4. Tint the other half with a few drops of green food gel
  5. Roll out dough and cut out bodies in brown and heads in green
  6. Attach green heads to brown bodies (use slight pressure where the come together)
  7. Add brown dough as robe collar
  8. Free hand cut out green ears and attach to head
  9. Cut tips off Bugles so it looks like a soup bowl and rub with cocoa powder
  10. Fold arms over bowl and add some green dough as hands
  11. Add more brown dough for robe accents
  12. Bake for 10-12 minutes

Star Wars - The Rise of Skywalker D-0 Droid Cupcakes

So I'm back (finally!) with another new Star Wars treat!

Have you seen the adorably cute new droid in the last and final Star Wars - The Rise of Skywalker movie??

It's name is D-0 and we love it already!

My kids say it looks like a desk lamp on a wheel and that's probably pretty accurate.
I for sure knew I had to make some.

It's relatively simple too.  You'll need Bugles snacks, white fudge dipped mini Oreo Thins Bites cookies, and some round vanilla candy melts/wafers.

Dip the Bugles in melted vanilla candy wafers and assemble using melted candy as the "glue"

Use one of the melting wafers as a base so you can stand the little droid up.  Add details by painting on gel food color or you can use edible markers.

I think there is only one D-0 droid in the new movie but I made a small droid army!

I used them as cupcake toppers so whip up your favorite flavor - chocolate is always a hit around our house.  I also crushed up some regular and chocolate graham crackers to look like dirt or dust since he doesn't look super clean in the released pics.

Also since he's part of the rebellion (I think??) - I made up some Rebellion logos by melting some orange candy wafers and tracing the logo.  Once hardened add a little wear and tear with a black edible food marker.

Add some frosting, sprinkle on the "dirt" and add D-0 and a logo

Super cute right??

I really really hope this 9th movie in the Star Wars saga is a great one.  1) Because I love the series and 2) Because I'm tired of the critics picking every movie apart.

These days we need movies to escape a bit and to just enjoy.  Real life is hard enough so lets try to agree that each person can enjoy a movie and just because someone else doesn't - doesn't mean it's terrible.  Life would be very dull if we all thought and experienced life in the same way.  I think sometimes we forget that.

Thanks for reading - I know its few and far between these days but hoping to get back into the *swing* of things!
