...so after doing peep pops here and here....i have found i kinda like using dipped marshmallow peeps as a "canvas"....i kinda think of them as my own cow parade (where artists decorate a blank cow which are then displayed in different cities and not that i am comparing myself to any of those artists, i just have a ton of fun decorating dipped peeps!)
...plus the winners of The Washington post's annual Peeps Diorama Contest have just been announced to!...the winner is OccuPeep D.C. ..ha!..i think my fav is iHeaven - Steve Job's current project!
....so to help celebrate, i'm doing a Peep Pop Week starting today!.....yep 7 days of nothing but peep pops with a different theme every day.....i know crazy, right???!
7 DAYS OF PEEP POPS!!!
....and to start off the week.....who doesn't love the beatles?...pretty much the greatest band ever...right?
...and ok, ok ok maybe this could be any dark haired group in a suit.....maybe i needed a guitar or something.....because someone guessed them to be the reservoir dog dudes.....or actually they kinda have lego minifig features (i think the kid's lego fascination is seeping into my own subconscious!)
.....but these guys are indeed the beatles ala sergeant peppers.....!

...the links to my previous peep pops explain how to dip the peeps....but it's really so simple 1) melt vanilla candy melts, chips, or bark whatever is your coating of choice 2) add a stick to bunny peep 3) dip entire peep and let dry (or you can decorate with sprinkles and stuff before the candy melt hardens)
....once hardened the color is drawn with some diluted food gels or food writers and the detail done with candy melt/wafers....(i diluted with a little bit of vodka which will evaporate once dry but i also tried with a tiny bit of water and that worked too)
...and you end up with some beatles peep pops (mop top and st peppers)....which hopefully makes you smile :)
